In other news it seems that last night God was bored
And, being in a mischieveous mood,
Swatted an Air France plane out of the sky.
Some of those squashed and broken-brained
Were earlier drinking highly- coloured cocktails
And thinking illicitly of beautiful Brazilan women.
On the other hand there were some
Who just wanted the kids to be quiet.
It’s quite a distance from Rio to Paris.
A very long flight. Or at least it should have been.
I feel that in that final plunge to ocean
No-one thought about their work
Which is strange considering
The amount of time invested.
It was rather wrong of God to do this
As the plane did not have free will
And we are always told
That that is the reason we suffer.
So I could pity the dead
Or try to live life maximized
In case God wants to play another joke
Like He did on my friend Michael
Whose head was ground to pulp
By a drunken driver.
But most probably I will just write
Another inadequate poem.
